Maths

In maths they have been working on decoding telegrams/breaking and intercepting codes, which links in with WW1.

English

In the English department today they have been studying poems by Wilfred Owen in the period during WW1.

Economics

Down in Economics the students have been studying how the countries changed since WW1 and the money matters behind it.

ICT

ICT students are separated into 2 projects. The year 10’s have been creating the website you are currently on and year 9’s have been doing stop frame animation.

Art

The Yr. 10 Art students have been busying themselves creating works of art based on the theme of poppies and remembrance. 

Physics

In physics, students are creating parachutes to protect eggs from a 3 story fall. This allows students to understand the factors that are involved with safely falling from  a plane.

Chemistry

In chemistry, they are doing some code breaking in order to find out how to make dye. Once they did this they made camouflage material.

Drama

Most of the years 7’s are taking part in a group drama activity relating to cowardice and Private Peaceful.

DT

In DT, students have the opportunity to create an object that relates to the days theme ‘the years 1916 to 1917’. One group has decided to create a man covered in poppies that they will make.
